Pretty sky, cold day
The image above was taken in Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA. I love the clouds in the sky, the reflection in the water, the stick in the pond and the vegetation in the foreground. I used what is called HDR technology to create it. I took multiple exposures, and I used special software to combine three separate images into one to have good sky detail, middle area detail and foreground detail.
If you want prints (framed or not, canvas gallery wraps, coffee mugs, etc) of this and several other of my nature images, please go to my Zenfolio site, http://focusfirm.zenfolio.com/. The photo above is in my new Nature 2009 gallery. Please feel free to browse all of the galleries. There is no charge for browsing!

Fire And Ice

A photographer's life can be interesting. Last weekend I went to the Pigeon Forge area with my girlfriend Kathy to see what animals were out and about and what other natural wonders we could find. While driving over a mountain on a rough dirt road, we came across trees covered in ice and surrounded by fog. It was beautiful, so I had to stop and shoot it.
This past weekend I was shooting two stunning models for a magazine and for their portfolio, and I really like the image above of Chasity in the window using only natural light. I guess you could say I am a big fan of God's creations

Atlanta City Fog Photo
Yesterday Atlanta had fog, and I got lucky and noticed when the fog was wrapping itself around the buildings off I-85 near 17th Street in an interesting way. So I grabbed my camera bag and tripod and ran as fast as I could to get the shot before the light changed. Here is the best shot, which is a composite HDR shot from 3 different exposures.
FYI, this photo can be purchased from this link: http://focusfirm.zenfolio.com/p10534870/h128e6f4a#h128e6f4a
You can buy prints, mouse pads and my personal favorite, gallery wraps.

Odd Art For Sale!
I have been experimenting with nature shots that are simpler in their use of color and more abstract in composition. Yet I am still sticking to creating images that I enjoy looking at and hopefully can even be relaxing in some cases. Below is a picture taken from a swimming pool on Christmas day looking up at trees with their leaves gone.
I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas and will have a Happy New Year!

Fine Art for Sale!
If you have not checked out my main website at www.focusfirm.net, you may have missed the new link to my site for purchasing fine art prints of my photography. Currently available are a few city shots and a lot of nature photography, including fall pictures from the beautiful Walden Pond and my Yosemite pictures from last year. You can order prints of various sizes (with options for lustre, foamcore backing, frames, etc), gallery wraps (wonderful and highly recommended), mouse pads, greeting cards and other items. I really love the lab that delivers these products. I have been using them myself for years.
You can go directly to http://focusfirm.zenfolio.com/ to see my offerings. Also on this site are some password protected galleries from private portrait and/or model shoots. So focus on the "Featured Galleries and Collections".
My latest pictures were taken at the Santee State Park in South Carolina. Lake Marion offers some beautiful sites, my favorite being the cypress trees in and around certain areas of the park. Here is one of my favorites, and it is for sale on my Zenfolio site!
Merry Christmas to everyone and Happy New Year!
